Screening
your urine and saliva pH to identify an acid system
The lower your pH (below 7.0 and
or above 8.0) the more off balance, and harder is it to rid your body of
heavy metals. When the pH is within its normal range any chelation
product (i.e. Bio-Chelat™) is
more effective .
Heavy metal intoxication is one
major reason for having a low urine pH.
The harmful role of an acidity on the body's organs is seen by the many
ailments the population suffers: fatigue, low energy, headaches, painful
joints, susceptibility to infections and all chronic illnesses in general.
Due to the increased awareness of the
importance of acid-alkaline balance for good health, more and more people
check their body using a simple urine and saliva pH screen.
What is needed in case you are
interested?
To measure the urine or saliva pH
and check if its acid or alkaline, a test paper is needed. This special
paper changes different shades of color when acid is present and can then
be checked against a color chart.

How can the pH of the urine or sputum give
information about the whole system?
To stay in good health, the body
must eliminate all the excess acids, which irritate and demineralize the
tissues. One of the exit doors for the acids is the renal system. The
normal excretion level of acids by the kidneys is known, and gives urine a
pH of about 7.0 to 7.5. By testing the degree of acidity in urine, it is
possible to determine if the body rejects the normal quantity of acids or
not. If the excretion level is higher than normal, it results in the urine
having higher pH acidity, showing that the body wants to eliminate the
excess acids.
These acids saturate the system and
give it an acidic characteristic along with the health inconveniences that
result. There exists a close correspondence between the pH of the system
and the pH of the urine. The urine becomes acidic because the system is
acidic.
The first urine in the morning is
not representative of the pH of the urine because it will always be
acidic. It contains all the acids filtered and accumulated by the kidneys
during the night. The 1st test begins with the second urine in the morning
and before breakfast. The 2nd test with the urine before lunch and the 3rd
test with the urine before dinner. It is important to do the test before
meals, since the pH can vary temporarily following aliments eaten during
the meal. The three measurers are written in the table. There are also
elements that could be useful for interpreting variations of the pH such
as high stress, unusual physical efforts, out of the ordinary meals, etc.
After one to two weeks, there will
be sufficient results to see a predominant pH, that is to say, a pH that
apart from slight variations, stays constant with time.
You can check your urine as well as
your saliva. Instructions: swallow saliva several times before testing;
spit some saliva into a spoon and insert the test paper in the saliva.
Interpretation:
Ideal pH 7.0 to 7.5
Marginal: pH 6.5
High risk: pH 6.0
Alkalosis: pH 8.0 or higher
Do the sputum screen only twice a week.
Three possible results
-
pH between 7 - 7.5: Your urine
pH is normal,
-
pH higher than 7.5: Your urine
pH is more alkaline than normal.
-
pH lower than 7: Your urine is
acidic.
Urine that is too acidic shows
that the system is acidic. This could be caused by an alimentation too
rich in acidic aliments (meat, cereals, sugar…) and too poor in alkaline
aliments (green and colored vegetable, almonds, bananas, potatoes), which
are able to neutralize the acidic aliments. The acidity of the system
could also come from heavy metal toxification and other oxidative
catalysts, chronic inflammation, prolonged stress etc., a deficiency of
vitamins and trace minerals necessary for the metabolizing of acids or a
lack of oxygen to the tissues due a sedentary life style. There are
troubles that become apparent due to system being acidic: lack of energy,
general fatigue, insomnia, susceptibility to infections, painful joints,
eczema, hair loss, dental cavities, etc.
The interpretation of the urine pH
that is too alkaline (above 7.5), is more difficult because there could be
many different causes. The system is alkaline just as the urine is
alkaline. This happens when the diet is especially alkaline, such as a
vegetarian diet poor in cereals and milk products, or when someone daily
takes alkaline mineral supplements. Sometimes alkalosis occurs (rarely),
when the glands are malfunctioning (surrenals, parathyroid).
Another case is a false pH; the
urine is alkaline or even neutral but the system acidic. It is a
misleading aspect at first, but easily explained. Here the pH alkaline or
neutral is due not to the excess contribution of alkalis (which the body
wants to get rid of like it did for excess acids), but an excess of
alkalis in the organic reserves a high quantity which are necessary to
neutralize a highly acidic system but which contribute to demineralizing
the organism. The urine is not alkaline because of an increase but because
of a high loss of base by looting the reserves.
To determine which possible case
belongs to the person with an alkaline or neutral urinary pH, a clinical
observation of the person is necessary. This includes examination if the
person suffers from troubles lined with an acidic system. If it is the
case, the person is acidic even if the pH of the urine is alkaline or
neutral.
Correct an acidic system
The pH urinary test is also useful
to control the effects and the means used to correct the system; as if
these means are effective, the pH of the urine should change and come back
to the normal 7.0 - 7.5.
In order to correct an acidic
system, and thereby the linked troubles, it is necessary to correct the
causes of the acidification, which in the majority of cases, is caused by
an alimentation which is too acidic. An alkaline alimentation is one which
gives a large place to the following aliments: vegetables, both green and
colored, raw nuts, eggs, poultry, apple cider, lemon juice, yogurt,
cottage cheese and mild cheese.
Besides changing eating habits,
regularly taking basic or alkaline mineral supplements such as Erbasit is
very useful. This alkaline mineral supplement allow an easy and rapid
de-acidification and thereby relieve the illness.
The quantity of basic minerals
(citrate alkalis), 1 to 3 teaspoons daily, depends on every individual
based on the level of the systems acidity. If the pH of the urine remains
less than 6.5 despite taking the citrate alkalis, the daily dosage should
be increased. Once the dosage allows the pH of the urine to remain
regularly at 7.0 - 7.5, the quantity of basic minerals is correct and
should be maintained as long as there is symptoms of a system clogged with
a surplus of acids. A weekly control becomes sufficient to check if the
needs of the organs have been modified.
The citrate alkalis can be taken
regularly as long as symptoms are present. As mentioned before, bad food
habits are those that cause acidemia. Check with the
